When did you start dancing? 5 years old -- ballet/tap/jazz class! Though Monster Mash tap dancing was fun, I focused on classically training in ballet and a little Chinese folk dance until high school when I found show choir and drill team (yes, I was co-captain of our pompom squad and danced at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas!). At Stanford, I discovered ballroom dancing and danced with Richard Powers' Vintage Dance Ensemble (and some of us reunited to perform at Spoleto Festival in Italy in July 2011!). I've danced with Loose Change (contemporary hip hop), KDC (radical ballroom), Eight Count (hip hop dance ministry), and Funk U (performance funk band). And through it all, Decandace!! So thrilled to be going into my 10th year with my beloved dance family!
What is your favorite style of dance? Anything that lets me move and groove musically!
Fusion social dance--Decadance style!! Blues!! Lyrical ballet and hip hop when I'm dancing on my own
What do you do when you're not dancing? Er... is it possible not to dance? Well, there is eating yummy food and traveling solo or with dear friends!
Seriously, I help people uncover their deeper desires, know what's really true for themselves, and have the courage and tools to step out into the world and ask for what they want in their careers and love lives. Having worked at Stanford GSB for 8 years coaching and teaching MBAs career management, I support my clients in their career direction and goals...and I really love helping clients ask for what they want in the rest of their lives too, so they can work with purpose, live with intention and play full-out!
Anything else? I love Deca!! and sunshine and sand between my toes :)
